When we say that our product is far superior to that of corporate roasters you might find in grocery stores, chain coffee shops, or chain doughnut shops, we are not only saying that our beans are MUCH higher quality than theirs, or that we roast with much more attention, dedication and love. We are saying that our coffee actually comes to you fresh, and theirs is generally stale beyond all recognition. Freshness in coffee is just as important as freshness in bread, or milk, or most other perishable things that you find in your cupboards and refrigerators. Most coffees you find on the shelves of grocery stores are several months old, while coffee is only at its peak freshness for a brief period of time after its roasted; between 1 - 10 days. After this period, the complex bouquet of flavors that makes great coffee great is dissipated.
